Choosing a dog bed for your dog can be difficult with all the different types and kinds of dog beds in the marketplace. A Phurry Phable

Beloved Queen was frantic. She rushed into the throne room to find her husband, the King.

"Young prince is missing", she cried. "I can't find him anywhere in the nursery."

"I took him to my King size bed", said the King. "He was so small and all by himself, and the other puppies were not playing with him." There was no such word as 'runt' in the Royal Household.

Beloved Queen could hear young prince crying as she walked down the hall to the King's chambers. There he was, a small puppy lost in a King sized bed. She hurriedly picked him up and soothed him.

Here is Beloved Queen's advice:

Match your dog bed. to the size of your dog. You can always buy a bigger bed as the dog grows. You would not put a baby in a king-sized bed, so you should not put a little puppy in a great big dog bed. They will sleep a lot better if they feel cozy and protected.

Don't let the puppy or dog be cramped up in the dog bed. Give them room to stretch out.

In the winter, make sure the bed is in a draft-free place, with no moisture able to get to it.

In the summer, good ventilation is necessary so the bed does not get overheated.

Consider getting a cool comfort pad for your dog in the summer.

Is your dog older or infirm? There are orthopedic pads made especially for the older dog or one with arthritis or hip problems.
