Dog House Plan

Building a Dog House

Just as a home is designed and built to fit the custom needs of the family that inhabits it, a doghouse can also be built in an equally detailed manner for a family pet.

Besides the family’s home, a doghouse is the coveted home of man’s best friend that offers protection from the elements of the outdoors. When building or purchasing a custom home for one’s dog, the doghouse plan should take into account a number of important points and features, such as size and placement.

When the decision has been made to build a doghouse bigger is not necessarily better, but instead the size of the dog and climate should be key as a large doghouse for a small pet might not be warm enough in colder climates, and a small doghouse for a larger pet might be uncomfortable and too hot in the summer.

Building a doghouse can provide a great outdoor feature when the doghouse plan mirrors the design and color of the primary home. Doghouse designs are flexible and can be a great accessory for one’s home and pet, but most importantly a doghouse should enhance the comfort and safety level of the dog that will dwell in it.

Whether one’s dog spends only a few hours outside or a doghouse is his only home, a doghouse plan should be a safe and secure feature that will provide safety from the sun, wind, rain or snow.
