Dog Kong Toy

by Carolyn Hellum

OH what fun your pooch will have with a dog Kong toy. Dog Kong toys are made out of a non-toxic rubber and have an irregular shape that is hollowed out so that you can stuff your dog’s favorite treat inside. Your dog will have a hay-day trying to get his or her treat out from inside the Kong toy.

Dog Kong toys were invented by a German man whose German Shepherd who ruined his teeth by chewing on stones. In an effort to find something, anything to get his dog Fritz to stop, he invented the Kong toy.

Originally found in only a red rubber, dog Kong toys are now available in a wide variety of colors. The Kong toy is not only used for a challenging and entertaining way to give your dog a snack, but is also used for playing fetch, dental cleaning, and teething reliever for puppies, as the Kong can also be frozen, just to name a few of its many uses. The Kong also bounces unpredictably, so be prepared for your dog to go crazy with the fun he or she will have!

Make sure to choose the correct size of Kong toy according to the size of your breed of dog. Do not leave your dog unattended when playing with the Kong, until you are sure that your pooch can safely play with it alone. When you first introduce the dog Kong toy to your dog, make sure to stuff the treat in the opening, in an ‘easy to remove’ way, then gradually increase the difficulty until your dog gets accustomed to playing with the Kong.

Enjoy your secure online dog Kong toy purchase, you know your dog will!
