Dog training should begin in puppyhood, but you don't have to stop training your dog there.
An older dog can also benefit from dog training. Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Beloved Queen thumped her foot. By the look on her face she was not a happy puppy! "I can't believe that some of these dogs are so hard to train!" she exclaimed to the King.
The King woofed and said "In my day there was very harsh punishment indeed for any infraction of the rules. Nowdays it is very different. We just have to pick the right equipment".

Match your dog training. to the age of your dog..
Make sure the temperment of your dog matches whatever training system you employ. Not all dogs can use all items.
Reward, reward, reward your dogs when they do well. A system of rewards works much better than punishment.
Love your dog. Do not get mad at your dog. Who is the master here? Let your dog know that your are the master, the Alpha dog as it were.
Above all, be patient with your dog. They are so anxious to please.
